Dear Perfect Stranger,
How are you feeling today? Me, I’m doing pretty well. I’ve been doing some reflecting lately and this is what I’ve come to believe. I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you can appreciate it when things go just as planned. You believe lies so that you eventually learn to trust nobody as well as you trust yourself. Sometimes good things fall apart so that even better things can come together.

Perhaps that was a bit overly optimistic of me to say but it’s what I’ve learned and experienced. Don’t let the past bring you down. Move on from the past but never forget what it has taught you. The conflicts we encounter and the hurdles we jump over make us who we are. So, I guess what I’m saying is don’t let anything bring you down, it’s just the nature of life. Enjoy your day!

Sincerely,

Your friendly picker upper =)

Dear Perfect Stranger,

How are you doing today? I’m doing pretty good. I slept pretty wel last night but I did have a dream. Not one of those scary nightmare-ish dreams but a dream about my ideal future. Ideally, I’d love to be working to educate people – children and adults – about the many wonders of our beautiful world. Not being an activist but just teaching about plants, animals and ecology. Then, when I retire, I would love to sail across the seas. I know that my dream is quite ambitious and I may never achieve it all but, I also know that I will try my very best to get there.

What do you dream of doing? Do you dream of being rich or of having many children? Do you dream of just being able to relax? Whatever your dream may be, savour it. Sometimes, dreams are the only things that keep us going so, dreams to me, are priceless.  Keep dreaming.

Sincerely,

Your friendly picker upper

Dear Perfect Stranger,

How are you today? I’m feeling fantastic today! There’s something about the rain that just makes me SMILE. I know that today isn’t the sunniest day and it sure isn’t the warmest day but today’s rain brings something special. Today’s rain is the first rain of the weekend and it looks like it’ll be followed by more. What I think is important about the rain today is the promise of a spring soon! Spring with the sun shining, flowers blooming, birds chirping, trees filled with beautiful leaves, fresh fruits and vegetables growing everywhere is coming! Oh no, does this mean that it’s time for spring cleaning? Bummer.

Whatever spring and the rain means to you, I hope it is wonderful. Remember that spring is a time of new beginnings. Maybe you’ll start a new friendship, maybe you’ll start a new job or maybe you’ll just start each day with a smile. Whatever it is, spring is a wonderful season and I hope you enjoy it as much as I will.

Sincerely,

Your friendly picker upper =)

Don’t believe in the power of being positive? Well, I do. I believe that everyone could use a little bit of brightening in their day and what better way to do that than through an anonymous card? Along with random bouts of positive thinking, this blog will document some of the anonymous notes I’ve left for perfect strangers to read. Some will take them as a little pick me up, others will find them nonsensical and creepy. I write these cards for the portion of the population who finds a card, reads it and smiles because one smile is worth the three cards that are thrown away as trash.

So read my pick me ups and maybe leave some of your own!
