I’m sure you’ve heard that STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards. Well, it’s true! Next time you’re stressed, try to eat a dessert, you will feel better. When things are going crazy, many of us crave some sort of dessert be it cupcakes or chocolate or ice cream. The fact of the matter is that this actually has something to do with your hormones cortisol and adrenaline. When stressed, these hormones take sugar out of your liver and rush it to your blood. Once the stress is gone, our bodies need to replenish the sugar somehow. Enter desserts! So, there’s a biological reason for your cake craving after a long night at work. Try this: after a hard, long day at work, take a chilled drink, sit down and take a sip. I guarantee this will help put you at ease.
